The Southern Christian Book Expo was a great success (thanks to all of you)!

We're back from our second annual Southern Christian Book Expo, which took part on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Lakeside Baptist Church in Birmingham. This event--which is jointly sponsored by the Southern Christian Writers Conference and The Alabama Baptist newspaper--is a chance for inspirational book authors to display and sell their books to the public. We had 72 authors take part this year, with representatives also on display from the SCWC, TAB, Bluewater Publications, and Iron Stream Media. We also had a food truck and boutiques on site.

The Book Expo also was the site of the announcement of the 2020 SCWC Notable Book Award winners. Those first place winners were Stephanie Bain for self-published fiction, Doug Smith for self-published nonfiction, Ramona Richards for traditionally published fiction and Lisa Smith for traditionally published nonfiction. (Look for a separate post with more news about the award and the winners.)

The event was a great success, thanks to the participation of SCWC authors and the readers who came to check it all out. We will continue to tweak the event and make it even better in the future for the authors who want to participate.

Here are some images from the 2020 Southern Christian Book Expo. If you didn't get a chance to attend this year, make plans to next year!
