Virtual Fiction Writing Workshop

We'd love to have you join us for the 2020 Virtual Fiction Writing Workshop sponsored by the Southern Christian Writers Conference. The workshop will take place solely in a private Facebook group, which will be available live and throughout the month of December. The cost is only $35.

Rhonda and Kaley Rhea

"Get Your Story Straight"

Rhonda Rhea and Kaley Rhea, mother/daughter writing duo, co-authored the award-winning romantic comedy novels, Off-Script & Over-Caffeinated and Turtles in the Road, and have also teamed up with beloved Bridges TV host, Monica Schmelter, for the nonfiction, Messy to Meaningful projects. Rhonda and Kaley are Christy Award finalists, Selah Award finalists, Book of the Year semi-finalists, Golden Scroll Award winners, and more. Kaley is also a Selah Award winning devotional writer. Rhonda is the author of more than a dozen other titles, including the Fix Her Upper series co-authored with Beth Duewel, and Unruffled—Thriving in Chaos, co-authored with Edie Melson. She is a multi-award-winning humor columnist and a nationally known speaker. Both Rhonda and Kaley live in St. Louis and enjoy big family life with the growing Rhea team.


Grace Hitchcock

"Writing Characters Readers Love"

Grace Hitchcock is the author of multiple historical novels and novellas, including the upcoming My Dear Miss Dupré from Bethany House Publishers. Other titles include The White City, Second Chance Brides, Southern Belle Brides, and Thimbles and Threads. Gregg Bridgeman

"Dialogue in Fiction" 

Gregg Bridgeman serves as the Editor-in-Chief at Olivia Kimbrell Press, a company that publishes both fiction and nonfiction. He's devoted to lifting up and helping ministry-minded Christian authors. He has collaborated with wife and best-selling Christian author Hallee Bridgeman and is father to three, Gregg continues to proudly serve in the US Armed Forces and has done so in either an active or reserve capacity for more than twenty years as an airborne and air assault qualified paratrooper, earning a Bronze Star for his service in combat.


Deborah Malone

"Make Your Setting Come Alive"

Deborah's first novel Death in Dahlonega, was a finalist in the American Christian Fiction Writer's Category Five writing contest.  Deborah was also nominated for 2012 and 2013 as Georgia Author of the Year in Novel category and was awarded the Georgia Author of the Year Award in 2018. She has published four novels in her Trixie Montgomery cozy mystery series.


Vanessa Griggs

Gene Rowley is the owner of Jumpmaster Press, a publishing company that focuses on distributing innovative products to authors and readers while also creating a grass-roots distribution model for independent authors via the Traveling Bookstore.

Gene is also an award-winning voice talent who nominated three years in a row for Audiobook Narration of the Year by the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences. He has worked in the radio industry at stations in Birmingham, Houston, and Los Angeles, and today runs a non-profit station in Alabama. 


Cheryl Wray

Opening & Closing Sessions

Cheryl Wray is the coordinator of the Southern Christian Writers Conference, and a popular speaker at events for women and writers. She's written thousands of articles for newspapers and magazines and is the author of five books on writing (Writing for Magazines, Feature Writing, Masterpieces of Reporting, Great Editorials, and Query Letter Secrets); she has worked in book publishing with fiction writers and her first young adult novel is in the editing stage. Her ebook publishing imprint Southern Story Books publishes fiction with a Southern slant.
